Chris Zook is an advisor to CEOs and an award-winning author of bestselling books on leadership and growth strategy. Chris was a member of the Bain partner team that transformed Bain from a single-office startup to a 20,000-person consultancy with over 70 offices. He led Bain’s Strategy Practice for over 20 years, consulting, writing and speaking about how companies find profitable growth at every stage from startup to mature, global enterprise. He served for 10 years on Bain’s Board of Directors and led the Bain Investment Committee.

Chris has written several widely acclaimed business books, including: The Founder's Mentality, Repeatability: Build Enduring Businesses for a World of Constant Change, Profit from the Core: A Return to Growth in Turbulent Times, Beyond the Core: Expand your Market without Abandoning your Roots and Unstoppable: Finding Hidden Assets to Renew the Core and Fuel Profitable Growth. Beyond the Core was voted one of the top 100 business books ever written and The Financial Times identified Unstoppable as one of the notable business books of the year. Chris has also written extensively in the business press, including the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, New York Times, Fortune and Forbes, as well as over 30 articles for Harvard Business Review. He has been a frequent guest on NPR, CNBC, and Bloomberg TV, as well as a speaker and facilitator of strategy workshops at business forums around the world including Davos.

He has appeared on the Times of London’s list of the 50 Most Influential Global Business writers and was named Consultant of the Year by Consulting Magazine. In 2019, he was inducted into the Thinkers 50 Hall of Fame for the top business thinkers in the world. In October 2022, Harvard Business Press cited two of his books among the top 20 publications in their history.

Chris received a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and economics from Williams College, an M.Phil. in economics from Exeter College, Oxford University, and Master’s and Doctorate degrees from Harvard University.
